Denver Health's Level 1 Trauma Center, named the Ernest E. Moore Shock Trauma Center, is committed to providing trauma education to trauma centers, hospitals, physicians and pre-hospital agencies throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Our physicians and nurses travel to outlying hospitals to provide educational lectures for health care providers. They also provide injury prevention education in our surrounding communities throughout metro Denver. Additionally, Denver Health sponsors the following core Trauma courses: ATLS, RTTDC, TNCC, ATCN.

Denver Health’s Rocky Mountain Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference
The Rocky Mountain Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference is celebrating its 50th year of combined commitment to providing quality continuing education (CME, CNE, CE) for emergency and trauma care providers!
This conference strives to provide high quality, cutting-edge education in emergency and trauma care, with multi-center collaboration at an affordable cost. Please join us for lectures focused on evidence-based research and optimized managed care as it relates to trauma patients and emergency medicine.
In addition to featured world renowned keynote speakers and lectures from our multidisciplinary Denver Health team as well as healthcare providers across the region, please join us for other activities including simulation competitions, Q&A panels, and evening receptions.

Advanced Trauma Life Support:
The American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course emphasizes the rapid initial assessment and primary management of the injured patient, beginning at the time of injury and continuing through initial assessment, lifesaving intervention, reevaluation, stabilization and transfer to a trauma center. This course consists of pre- and post- course exams, core content lecture, interactive case presentation, discussion, development of lifesaving skills, practical laboratory experience and a final performance proficiency evaluation. Upon completion of the course, physicians should feel confident in implementing the skills taught in the ATLS course. (Advanced Trauma Life Support for Doctors, 10th edition, 2019).
