The Position: Chief of General Internal Medicine
The Department of Ambulatory Care Services at Denver Health is seeking a Chief of General Internal Medicine (GIM). Denver Health, a nationally renowned vertically integrated health care system, is affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine (UCSOM) and includes a 525 bed public safety-net hospital and eight large community health centers.
The Chief of GIM leads a division of over 50 providers who oversee more than 80,000 outpatient visits per year in five primary care clinic sites. Each physician has an academic appointment at the UCSOM. There is ample opportunity for research, quality improvement, resident-medical student teaching and clinical work. The ideal candidate will be at the Associate or Professor level with a demonstrated commitment to underserved populations and an outstanding record of accomplishments in teaching, service, and quality improvement or research. Responsibilities include leadership and oversight of the division, promotion of clinical research and quality improvement, faculty mentoring, outpatient care, and collaboration with colleagues at the University of Colorado.
