The mission of the Purchasing Department is to support the needs of all Denver Health departments for goods and services with a focus on being efficient, cost effective, ethical and customer service oriented. Specific functions include:
- Using all available resources to identify appropriate sources of supply;
- Continuously update source list as necessary;
- Keeping abreast of changing trends in technology, prices and availability of supplies and services to insure customer needs are being met;
- Obtain competitive bids and award contracts on the basis of best value to Denver Health commensurate with quality, cost and service standards.
Using Denver Health’s resources wisely is an important aspect of the Purchasing Department’s mission. Part of that mission is also making sure all vendors have an equal opportunity to do business with the institution. We value every supplier of goods and services and strive to communicate all of our needs. In so doing, Denver Health Purchasing has now implemented an online public bid format that will be located on Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System.
