Thomas MacKenzie, MD, MSPH
Chief Quality Officer
Dr. Thomas MacKenzie is a practicing internal medicine physician and is currently the chief quality officer for Denver Health. Tom oversees quality improvement efforts and patient safety across the integrated delivery system. Prior to his appointment as chief quality officer in 2008, as director of internal medicine he managed operations of five ambulatory clinics with volumes totaling about 100,000 visits per year. He is also a professor of medicine at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine.
He completed his BS in chemistry at Colorado College, his MD at the Washington University School of Medicine, and his internal and preventive medicine residencies as well as his MS in public health at University of Colorado School of Medicine. His research interests include development of patient care registries, evidence-based guideline development and implementation, and risk communication and medical decision making.
