Results: After Hours and Emergency Care for Uninsured Patients

In accordance with the EMTALA Laws, Denver Health will see all patients seeking emergency care and will conduct a medical screening to determine if their condition is an emergency.

If you have an emergency or urgent medical condition, you will not be required to provide a deposit before you receive services, but you will be billed in full at a later date.

Please remember to bring proper identification with you and your medical card with you.

Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act requires that every patient coming to Denver Health seeking emergency care must have a medical screening examination to determine if their condition is an emergency.

If you have an emergent or urgent medical condition, you will not be required to provide a deposit before you receive services, but you will be billed in full at a later date.

What if the doctor says my condition is not an emergency?

You may still be seen by an urgent care doctor at Denver Health, but you will be required to pay a deposit in the amount of $500 to be seen and Denver Health will bill you in full for services at a later date.

For Uninsured Denver Residents: We have discount programs and enrollment specialists to help you.

Denver Health has a number of discount programs available for those in need and our enrollment specialists can screen you to see if you qualify for a discount program or another health care program.

If you qualify for one of these programs, you will be able to access Denver Health services for a reduced amount and in some cases, with no copay at all.

Unscreened patients do not receive any discounts on their bills. They are responsible for 100% of charges.
