Hospital Medicine

The Division of Hospital Medicine is a group of dedicated clinicians experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The group is comprised of board-certified internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who work closely with other specialists and primary care providers to ensure that every hospitalized patient receives empathic, efficient, and high quality care.

Our hospitalists provide direct clinical care on teaching and non-teaching services and also have the opportunity to participate in the specialized services we provide.

Physicians have an academic appointment through the University of Colorado School of Medicine and are actively involved in the education of students and medical residents rotating at Denver Health. Additional mentorship opportunities are available, including precepting medical students through the Foundations of Doctoring course and serving as facilitators in the Problem Based Learning curriculum.

The division is actively involved in research and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes. Protected time and support staff are provided for our hospitalists to pursue their research interests.

Our mission is to provide compassionate and exceptional care to hospitalized patients, further the field of medicine through research, and educate future clinicians.
