Leveraging Lean Management Systems for True Continuous Improvement
Applying Lean tools, such as 5S and Kaizen events, is an excellent way to improve the quality of care and generate significant improvements, but sustaining those gains and instilling an ongoing improvement mindset among all leaders and staff are the keys to achieving lasting improvement. This course will help you integrate ongoing lean improvements into your organization's daily work and make continuous improvement a part of everyone's job.
This session will introduce participants to lean concepts for leadership roles and illustrate the differences between lean leadership and typical management-by-objective models. Participants will also learn about how the five critical elements of a lean management system work together: standard work, leadership standard work, visual management, strategy deployment, and deployment and spread of improvement.
This workshop is designed to be highly interactive and participative, with minimal lecture. Attendees will leave with a personal action plan for key integration steps within their organization, including the following:
- The development and deployment of standard work
- Implementing visual management
- Implementing leadership standard work
- Deploying A3 problem solving
- Single point accountability
