ACUTE Eating Disorder Therapy

Therapeutic Support

Although a large part of the patient's unique treatment plan consists of medical care to address health complications, psychiatric care and therapeutic support are critical pieces of the healing process at ACUTE. With the understanding that intense psychiatric work is often difficult in this state of recovery, patients receive individual eating disorder therapy sessions daily with one of ACUTE’s staff psychologists and consultation with an expert Denver Heath psychiatrist as needed.

ACUTE eating disorder therapy plans include:

  • Daily patient support, therapeutic intervention and basic skill-building focused on minimizing fears, anxieties and eating disordered behaviors
  • Weekly multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and consistent communication to ensure both mental and physical health concerns are addressed
  • Improved outcomes by reducing risk for discharge against medical advice (American Medical Association) and providing patients with a foundation for the next phase of their recovery
