Imaging Sites
Denver Health radiology operates out of sites throughout the city of Denver, though the majority of our services are offered on the main campus of Denver Health. There you will find all the major imaging modalities offered with convenient times during the day and after hours for patients looking for options after the work day.
In 2020, Denver Health opened a 7-story, 293,000 square foot outpatient medical center, which includes a state-of-the-art comprehensive outpatient imaging center; we offer nearly all radiology modalities right on the first floor, with easy access for patients. There is an advanced Breast Imaging Center on the fifth floor and imaging equipment embedded in the Orthopedic Division on the sixth floor.
Denver Health Radiology completes nearly 300,000 imaging examinations and therapeutic interventions per year. Despite our volume, each examination is done meticulously in a patient-centered manner.

Imaging Technology
Denver Health uses state-of-the-art imaging equipment, including the latest and most updated technology and software. We have advanced multi-slice, dual energy Computed Tomography (CT) scanners with the latest advanced imaging software, precise cardiac gating, and other capabilities. We have high field strength Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) units offering clear images and quick scanning times. Our interventional radiology suites are amongst the most advanced in the state of Colorado, including a combination CT/angiography suite. Our nuclear medicine cameras include a brand-new PET/CT scanner to serve our oncologic patient. Finally, we have the latest ultrasound, radiography, and fluoroscopy units. In total, Denver Health offers the best radiology equipment for our patients and our providers.

Our Radiologists
All Denver Health radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and all have completed fellowships and other advanced training. We offer subspecialist reads that are informed by the latest medical evidence. Each radiologist completes extensive continuing medical education annually. Our radiologists participate in educating the next generation of medical providers by teaching University of Colorado School of Medicine students, residents and fellows.
Over the years, multiple Denver Health radiologists have been named “Top Docs” by the 5280 Magazine, including Denver Health physicians specializing in Neuroradiology, Pediatric Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology.
We follow industry best practices, including the use of standardized reports and reports with hyperlinks to key images. Our picture archiving and communications system is state-of-the-art, having recently been updated.

Self Payment Options Now Available
Denver Health’s Radiology Department offers self-pay package options for our community to seek cost-effective care.
- Hysterosalpingography (HSG): an important test conducted to evaluate the fertility potential of a female. Self-pay package for an HSG is $600.
- Coronary CT calcium scan: scan of the heart for the assessment of severity of coronary artery disease. Self-pay package for a coronary CT calcium scan is $150.
- 2D & 3D mammograms: method to examine the human breast for diagnosis and screening for early detection of breast cancer. Self-pay package for 2D mammogram is $175 and $275 for 3D mammogram.
