Denver Health Opens New Emergency Department for Children
The Denver Emergency Center for Children hosted a safety fair and grand opening celebration for the public Saturday, September 6. The fair included tours of the new Pediatric Emergency Department and Urgent Care Facility, a bike obstacle course, free bike helmets, face painting, and the opportunity to explore an ambulance, a fire truck and a police car.
Denver Health will open a brand new Emergency Room and urgent care center just for children. The Denver Emergency Center for Children will begin seeing patients September 10.
 
A dedicated staff of Emergency Medicine physicians specializing in pediatric medical trauma care and urgent care, nurses with special training in pediatrics, and pediatric nurse practitioners will work together to ensure fast-tracking patients so there is little or no wait time for children to be seen by a medical professional.
 
Some of the features of the new facility include all private rooms and a separate ambulance entrance.
