Physicians, laboratories and hospitals are required by law to report specified diseases of people who live within the City and County of Denver to the Denver Public Health Department. The nurse epidemiologist is responsible for investigating disease outbreaks, educating the public about communicable diseases, and conducting infection control interventions. This is done under the supervision of the Director and Associate Director of Denver Public Health and with support and resources from the Colorado Department of Health and Environmental, Denver Environment Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
To report Communicable Diseases call (303) 436-7358.
