About the Infectious Diseases Division Minimize
The Infectious Diseases Division staffed by faculty based in the Department of Medicine and at Denver Public Health. The Infectious Diseases Division provides inpatient consultation services for Denver Health Medical Center and staffing for multiple subspecialty clinics, including HIV/AIDS; Orthopedics Infectious Diseases; Sexually Transmitted Diseases; Tuberculosis; and Travel Medicine. The Division also provides leadership for the Infection Control and Prevention Program at Denver Health.
Research Minimize
Research at Denver Health Medical Center focuses on the clinical and molecular epidemiology and prevention of health care-associated infections. Infection control activities include:

blue_square.jpg innovative programs in Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) control;
green_square.jpg an acclaimed program in hand-hygiene;
blue_square.jpg a fully functional molecular typing laboratory for infection control investigations;
green_square.jpg a recognized program for emerging infectious diseases disaster planning;
blue_square.jpg a CDC-funded syndromic surveillance program (with Denver Public Health).

Additional clinical and research interests focus on the treatment of musculoskeletal infections as part of the specialty multidisciplinary clinic staffed with the Department of Orthopedics, and the treatment of serious infections due to Staphylococcus Aureus.
