The Emergency Medicine Residency at Denver Health, started in 1973, is one of the nations most competitive programs, and is the only one of its kind in Colorado. An integrated residency program composed of eight affiliated institutions and based at Denver Health Medical Center, its primary objective is to train physicians to function in any type of emergency environment.
The Family Medicine Residency at Denver Health was started in 1998 to train family physicians to give comprehensive care especially in underserved and culturally diverse populations. It exposes residents to an interdisciplinary model, which emphasizes clinical prevention and community understanding. The program is a collaborative effort between Denver Health and the University of Colorado Department of Family Medicine.
