Influenza (Flu) Vaccine
The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat and lungs. Unlike many other viral respiratory infections, like the common cold, the flu can cause severe and even life-threatening complications in many people. Pertussis in Denver
The number of people diagnosed with pertussis (whooping cough) is up again in Denver and Colorado. In 2013, 159 people in Denver were diagnosed with Pertussis - more than three times as many as an average year! In 2012, there were 219 cases. This is a critical public health concern.
