Mauricio P. Yabar, LCSW, M.Ed., CST received his masters in Clinical Social Work and Human Sexuality Education (Clinical Track) in 2012 from Widener University in Pennsylvania. He is a licensed clinical social worker and certified sex therapist through the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. He is trained in narrative therapy, a non-judgmental and collaborative approach that aims to help individuals see themselves separate from the problems that affect their life. Yabar views his clients as the experts of their journey. He is interested in helping his clients reconnect with their values, hopes, dreams, purposes and commitments in life. He has trained and continues to train with pioneers in the field of narrative therapy. Yabar has experience working with children/adolescents, family systems, sexuality-related issues and LGBTQ+ individuals. He has been a part of the STEP team since 2016.
