To provide a therapeutic environment for healing for Denver Health and our community partners.
For all those we serve to have access to a nurturing, expressive and safe space in the hospital.
To offer meaningful interactions in a space that promotes play, recreation, and JOY.
What is offered in the Child Life Zone at Denver Health?
Child Life Specialists work alongside hospitalized children and their families, youth in the community, and community partners to provide a safe space for healing and recreation. The space serves children ages 0-19 years and their families. As the primary therapeutic playroom at Denver Health, The Child Life Zone offers opportunities for play, relaxation and self-expression, as patients and families explore technology, music, art, and more!
The Child Life Program collaborates with several community partners and volunteers to bring specialized programming to hospitalized children and families. The program hosts several events each year for current and previous patients and families ranging from family meals, to holiday celebrations, to birthday and graduation parties to promote normalcy and healing during challenging life circumstances.
Denver Health’s Child Life Zone was made possible by the Garth Brooks Teammates For Kids Foundation. This nonprofit foundation was co-founded by Garth Brooks to work in partnership with professional athletes, celebrities, organizations and fans to generate funds for children’s charities. Denver Health will always be grateful for this tremendous gift.
