What is TB?
TB is a disease caused by germs that are spread between people through the air.
It usually affects the lungs but may also affect other parts of the body, including the brain,
kidneys or spine. It can be deadly if left untreated.
The best way to prevent the spread of TB is to be tested if you think you have been exposed and to be
treated if you have tested positive. It is very important that people with TB get and complete treatment.
If diagnosed with TB, your treatment will be offered for free.
You can learn more about TB, including tuberculosis symptoms, by visiting our TB fact page.
