The Rocky Mountain Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference is celebrating its 41st year of combined commitment to providing quality CME for emergency and trauma care providers.  This conference strives to provide high quality, cutting edge education in emergency and trauma care, with multi-center collaboration at an affordable cost.

The conference attracts nationally and internationally renowned trauma and emergency medicine experts to Colorado to share their wisdom and expertise.  Curriculum is created in cooperation with representatives of Denver Health, Centura Health, HealthONE, University of Colorado Hospital, and Children’s Hospital Colorado. The conference is pleased to have the support of the Colorado Committee on Trauma (COT), the Colorado chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and the Colorado Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).

Special Presentation -Practicing Adult and Pediatric Vascular Surgery in the War Zone: Lessons Learned in Iraq and Afganistan - Thursday, July 10

Presented by Charles J. Fox, MD, FACS

Please join us for a Special Thursday Evening Presentation by Denver Health Medical Center Chief of Adult and Pediatric Vascular Surgery, Charles J. Fox, MD, FACS. Dr. Fox is a retired Lieutenant Colonel and former program director for vascular surgery fellowship training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C., in addition to being a former firefighter-paramedic and Special Forces medic. He has a strong academic interest in pediatric and adult vascular trauma care and has been deployed to Grenada, Kuwait, Bosnia, Africa, Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Fox is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery, Journal of American College of Surgeons, Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. He has been invited to many visiting professorships in the US and abroad, and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on both adult and pediatric vascular trauma. Dr. Fox will be sharing his experiences and lessons providing surgical care to military personnel and civilian victims in Iraq and Afghanistan.
