When it is time for you to go home, our providers will provide any special instructions for you and your baby, as well as prescriptions for any necessary medications. Your health and well-being are important after you deliver your baby. Remember to call your clinic to schedule your six-week postpartum check-up visit after your baby is born.
Questions Once You Are Home
The weeks after your child’s birth are extremely joyous, but they may also be filled with questions. Please do not hesitate to contact your clinic with questions regarding your health or your child’s provider with questions about your baby. If you have breastfeeding questions, you may call our lactation department at 303-602-9290. Additionally, you can always call Denver Health’s NurseLine at 303-739-1211 with questions too.
Follow-Up Care for Your Baby
In the first year of your child’s life, he or she will need to visit the doctor regularly. Before you leave the hospital, our staff will assist you in scheduling the first appointment for your newborn. The first appointment is usually set two to three days after you take your baby home. It is helpful to select a provider for your baby before he or she is born. Denver Health has many options for primary care for children, including the Kid's Care Clinic that was designed especially for children.
