The Hematology/Oncology team evaluates and cares for patients across the full spectrum of blood disorders and cancers. Our interdisciplinary team is made up of physicians, pharmacists, office and infusion center nurses, medical assistants, front desk clerks, social workers, cancer resource center staff, psychologist, chaplain and a clinical research coordinator.
In discussion and decision making with patients and loved ones, we make a plan of care to fit each individual and manage symptoms associated with the conditions we treat. Multidisciplinary care is a mainstay at Denver Health, facilitated by tumor board conferences and participation by providers in related fields.
It so happens that cancer tends to strike when we least expect it and when it is most inconvenient. Work, financial, transportation, family and mental health issues seem to all convene at the worst moment. At Denver Health, we are experts in providing state-of-the-art cancer care while at the same time effectively addressing the many barriers and challenges unique to each person. In this department, you will find deeply committed team members who will get to know you and provide the true personalized cancer care you deserve.
Our team does not work in isolation. As part of the integrated health network, we collaborate very closely with your primary care doctor and the other specialists that may need to get involved in your care.
