The Position: Pediatrician - Well Baby Nursery
The Department of Inpatient Pediatrics at Denver Health is recruiting for a Pediatrician to work in our Level II Well Baby Nursery. The ideal candidate will be joining a core group of four pediatricians, will be board certified in pediatrics and have an active Colorado medical license at the time of employment. This position will include direct patient care for infants in the Level I and Level II Nurseries; supervision and teaching of residents, students, and advanced practice providers; and participation in unit administrative and quality improvement projects. Competence and experience in delivery room resuscitations is expected. The ideal candidate will be interested in care of the well newborn, including support of breast-feeding, as well as developmentally appropriate care of convalescent preterm and term newborns. Interest in and experience with teaching and education of staff and trainees is also desired.
The Department of Inpatient Pediatrics at Denver Health is part of a fully integrated network of 8 community health centers, 16 school-based clinics, and a Level I 525-licensed bed hospital with a mission of providing access to quality preventive, acute, and chronic health care for all citizens of Denver, regardless of ability to pay. Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and serves as a training site for residents and fellows. The successful candidate will have a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
