The Position: Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon
Denver Health, in the heart of thriving downtown Denver, CO, is seeking a full-time Trauma Acute Care Surgeon, Board Certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, to join our team.
Denver Health has been certified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Adult Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and offers comprehensive medical, surgical and psychiatric care, as well as emergency, ambulatory and diagnostic services. With 525 licensed beds, Denver Health is one of the state’s busiest hospitals with more than 26,000 admissions annually. Denver Health was recently recognized by the University Hospital Consortium as having one of the lowest observed to expected mortality rates in the country (Ranked #5 out of 121 academic health centers). As Colorado’s premier safety net institution, Denver Health offers unique clinical and academic opportunities addressing the needs of our patient population. Our surgical team is nationally renowned for teaching, research and trauma services. Denver Health is an affiliate hospital of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and all Denver Health faculty will have an academic appointment through the school of medicine.
The successful candidate will have completed a terminal medical degree (e.g. MD or DO) be board certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical and will receive an academic appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences at an academic rank commiserate with experience.
