Career Fair

Denver Health will be hosting a Career Fair on May 16, 2019, from 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Rita Bass Education Building on the Denver Health Campus, 190 West 6th Ave., Denver, CO 80204.

During the career fair, we will have the Human Resources Department and Department Leaders on site to conduct interviews and make offers on the spot!! We are seeking individuals in the following areas: 

Registered Nurses (RNs with 1+ year of experience)

As a Registered Nurse, you will adhere to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics to provide care to all healthcare consumers. You will apply critical thinking, evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes. You will also utilize the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice. In order to qualify for this position, you must have completed a nursing education program that is accredited and satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Registered Nurses, have an active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR, and an active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Colorado or a participating compact state. *Specialty certifications as required/recommended per unit.

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will assist professional nursing and care providers in providing care to all patients with respect for their uniqueness. You will collaborate with the RN and healthcare team and assist with basic patient care and activities of daily living. You will also maintain unit specific documentation as required and will order, maintains and utilizes supplies for the assigned unit. (If trained will perform phlebotomy and blood draws on specific units*). In order to qualify for this position, you must have a High school diploma or GED, have a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR and have a Certified Nursing Assistant license. 

Medical Assistants (MAs) (opportunities at off-site clinics across Metro Denver)

As a Medical Assistant, you will provide nursing support with various functions such as invasive procedures, medication administration, and performing appointment and registration scheduling functions. You will ensure smooth work and patient flow within the clinic. In addition, you will assist the RN with clinical clerical functions, and assist providers including all back office duties. To qualify for this position you must have a High School diploma or GED Certificate, have a MA or LPN license, and a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from The American Heart Association.

Behavioral Health Technicians

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will be responsible for providing a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients. You will provide direct patient care and may conduct therapeutic group sessions under the direction and supervision of the RN. You will provide input to the RN to help develop the plan of care and assist in carrying out the plan of care for assigned patients. In addition, you will also assist with the admission of new patients and orient new patients and families to the unit. In order to qualify for this position, you must have a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from The American Heart Association, and one of the following combinations:

  • High School diploma or GED and 3 years of relevant experience or 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field or 
  • High School diploma or GED + a CNA license or a CAC-1 or any other health technology certificate or
  • Currently enrolled in your last year of nursing school

Pharmacy Technicians

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform pharmacy-related functions to provide optimal pharmaceutical care by preparing medications, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and restocking as necessary. In order to qualify for this position, you must have a High school Diploma or GED certificate and have a PTCB certification or current pharmacy intern license.

Dental Hygienists

As a Dental Hygienist, you will perform dental hygiene for the care and treatment of dental patients for Denver Health and School base Dental Clinics. You will polish and floss teeth and takes and record medical and dental histories/update personal information in patient’s chart while making them feel at-ease and comfortable. In order to qualify for this position you must have graduated from a school of Dental Hygiene accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, have a Colorado license to practice as a Dental Hygienist and have a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from The American Heart Association.

Dental Assistants

As a Dental Assistant, you will assist a Dentist in the care and treatment of dental patients. You will function as a dental chair by passing instruments, preparing compounds, and assisting with taking x-rays and impressions. You will also be an office assistant by schedule appointments and prepare patient records. In order to qualify for this position, you must have completed a Dental Assistant vocational curriculum from an approved school or equivalent training, HS Diploma/GED and have a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from The American Heart Association.

Environmental Services (EVS – Janitorial & Custodian)

As a custodian, you will be cleaning to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital/clinics. The individual may be assigned to any one of several positions to include: patient area cleaner, non-patient area cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, and/or others. In order to qualify for this position, you must have formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. A High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.

Periop Support Technicians

As a Periop Support Technician, you will perform routine and specialized functions relating to technical support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, functions as member of the Perioperative Services team. In order to qualify for this position you must have a HS Diploma/GED and a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from The American Heart Association.

Food Service Workers

Retail Attendant

As a Retail Attendant, you will greet and welcome all customers, visitors, and employees entering the Good Day Café and/or approaching retail food stations, assist with making meal selections, and be responsible for set-up, service and clean-up of meals served during shift. In order to qualify for this position you must be able to comply with regulatory agency requirements. A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.

Room Service Attendant

As a Room Service Attendant, you will be responsible for preparation, assembly, and delivery of patient meal trays, guest trays and snacks to the bedside. In order to qualify for this position you must be able to comply with regulatory agency requirements. A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.

Sanitation Worker

As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Food and Nutrition Services department including ware washing, pots and pans, floors, floor drains, trash, cardboard compacting, and other cleaning tasks as assigned. In order to qualify for this position you must be able to comply with regulatory agency requirements. A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.

Cook

As a Cook, you will prepare and cook food for hospital patients, hospital employees and visitors. In order to qualify for this position you must be able to comply with regulatory agency requirements. A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.

Central Supply Technicians

As a Central Supply Technician, you will assure the timely and accurate restocking of medical supplies and equipment to in-patient and out-patient clinical setting. In order to qualify for this position, you must have a high school diploma or GED certificate, be able to read and follow written instructions and to write brief notes about activities performed during the shift and must be able to match numbers and letters. Must be able to add and subtract.

Laundry Worker

As a Laundry worker, you will wash, dry, press and pack laundry for the hospital. A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.
