Sara Hinds Anderson, MS, DDS, MD
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Anderson is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS) with a scope of practice including dentoalveolar, trauma and orthognathic surgery. She is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Anderson completed her OMFS residency at the University of Michigan. She studied biomedical engineering at Duke University, where she earned her BSE and Master’s Degrees. Her research focused on skeletal muscle tissue engineering and electrophysiology. Her interest in biomaterials and regenerative medicine led her to oral surgery, and she received her DDS from New York University and her MD from the University of Michigan School of Medicine.
Dr. Anderson co-founded the Women in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Leadership Symposium. She is a member of the Osteo Science Vanguard Committee.
She is a native of Miami, Florida and now lives in Boulder. She has two children, Ben and Eden, along with her husband, Dr. Tyler Anderson, who is a Prosthodontist in the Denver area.

Steve Aragon, DDS, MD
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Aragon is a Colorado native and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado, and DDS at the University of Colorado Health Science Center followed by a one-year General Practice Residency in Dentistry. He then spent the next decade at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio (UTHSC) where he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency (OMS) with a one-year internship in anesthesiology. Dr. Aragon then went on to obtain his MD, followed by a General Surgery Internship at the same institution.
Dr. Aragon then returned to Colorado where he completed the Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Residency (ENT) at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is board certified in both OMS and ENT specialties.
Dr. Aragon remained in Denver practicing both specialties, OMS, ENT and Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. After retiring from full time private practice, Dr. Aragon joined the teaching staff at the Denver Health OMS Residency Program and thoroughly enjoys teaching the bright young minds today who will become the leaders of OMS in the future.
Mark Berman, DDS, MD
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Berman is a Colorado native who grew up in the Denver Metro area and is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Dr. Berman studied at the University of Northern Colorado, where he earned his BA. After working in the Biotech world, he decided to further pursue his education, attending The Ohio State University, where he earned his Master of Science in Anatomy. His interest and passion for science led him to the University of Colorado where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and onto Oregon Health & Science University where he completed his OMFS residency while earning his MD.
Following the completion of his education and training, Dr. Berman returned to Denver where he grew a successful 23-year career in private practice. Dr. Berman is now an Attending Surgeon with Denver Health’s OMFS Residency Program.
In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, fly fishing, woodwork and spending time with his family.

Steven Nelson, DDS
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Nelson followed his father’s footsteps in graduating from the University of Iowa where he completed his undergraduate and dental degrees. He obtained his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas where he also earned a Master’s degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Nelson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is active in the American Dental Association (ADA), formerly serving as Vice Chairman of the Council on Access, Prevention, and Interprofessional Relations. He was a member of the Colorado Dental Association Governmental Relations Council, the Colorado Dental Political Action Committee, former Chair of the Colorado Small Donor Committee and a member of the CDA Opioid Alternative Workgroup. He has been reelected to his 24th term as the Speaker of the House of Delegates for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). In addition, he has been elected by his peers as a fellow in the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr. Nelson is also very active in the community having served as President for the Colorado Dental Lifeline Network for 21 years. Dr. Nelson has been married for 38 years and has three active sons. In his spare time, he likes to hike, fly fish, play pickleball, and travel with his wife.
Boyd Tomasetti, DMD
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Tomasetti is a graduate of the University of Vermont and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He completed his oral & maxillofacial surgery training at Kings County – Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Tomasetti is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Prior to coming to Denver Health, he was in a private group practice in Littleton and Denver.
Following retirement from private practice, he became an attending surgeon at the Denver Health OMFS Residency Program as well as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. He has served on numerous hospital committees and was president of the Colorado Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a Past President of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and has also served on the Executive Committee of the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Tomasetti has authored numerous scientific papers and book chapters and is the co-editor of a book on short implants with Prof. Rolf Ewers of Vienna, Austria. He lectures both nationally and internationally on a variety of subjects.
