Mission Statement & History
In 1860, the city of Denver recognized a significant need for an anchor institution and hospital to meet the growing demands of the developing community. Denver Health was soon established and began providing care. Denver Health’s goal in 1860 and today is to provide care for the rapidly growing needs of Denver residents and visitors. Denver Health continues to expand its life saving services as it identifies further needs within the community. Currently, Denver Health provides care in multiple service lines including primary care, pediatrics, orthopedics, OBGYN/gynecology, men’s health, dedicated LGBTQ+ services, Level I trauma care and so much more.

Denver Health offers patient and visitor amenities to make your visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. In 2021, Denver Health opened a brand new outpatient medical center that is home to state-of-the-art medical technology and services including x-ray, same or next day ultrasounds, CT and MRI scans. Denver Health provides full-service medical care with appointments, imaging, lab testing, and pharmacy services accessible on the main campus. Patients also have access to Denver Health's multiple locations across the Denver area for further convenience.
