No appointment is needed. Walk-ins are welcome at all Denver Health Urgent Care locations. You can also schedule a virtual urgent care visit online through Denver Health MyChart.

How is urgent care different from the emergency room?
Urgent care treats non-emergent conditions that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening, such as minor fractures, sprains, colds and infections. The Emergency Department treats serious injuries and illnesses that may require rapid or advanced treatment, including surgery, available only in a hospital setting. Is urgent care cheaper than the emergency room?
In most cases, yes. Urgent care visits typically cost less than a visit to the Emergency Department because urgent care is designed for non-emergent conditions that don't require hospital-level resources. Choosing urgent care when appropriate often means a shorter wait and a lower bill.

Yes. Denver Health Urgent Care treats a full range of sports and activity injuries, including sprains, strains, minor fractures, dislocations, concussion evaluations, shoulder and knee injuries, and wound care. Is virtual urgent care available for children?
Yes. Denver Health offers Pediatric Virtual Urgent Care for children by smartphone, tablet or computer. Denver Health also operates the only 24-hour, in-person Pediatric Emergency Department and Urgent Care in Denver.
Do I need a referral to be seen at urgent care?
No referral is needed for an urgent care visit at Denver Health. Walk in or schedule a virtual visit without prior authorization. If you need follow-up specialty care, urgent care staff can help with a referral.
