Bleeding Control Basics

Denver Health Paramedics is a proud partner of the Department of Homeland Security's "Stop the Bleed" campaign. Denver Health Paramedics - EMS Education provides the BCON (Bleeding Control) course that is approved through the American College of Surgeons.

The course was developed by Dr. Peter Pons and the staff of Denver Health EMS Education in response to efforts by the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services to increase collaboration between law enforcement, the fire service and EMS, and the public in responding to active shooter/IED/mass casualty events. B-Con is consistent with the recommendations of the Hartford Consensus on Improving Survival from Active Shooter Events.

If you would like to schedule a free Stop The Bleed training for your group please contact Justin Harper at Justin.Harper@dhha.org or at 303-602-2571.

American Heart - Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. For many Heartsaver courses, students receive a course completion card that is valid for 2 years. Acting immediately in the event of a cardiac arrest can greatly improve a person's chances of survival. CPR and the use of an automatic defibrillator (AED) are two tools that community members can learn to help someone in a heart-related emergency.

When registering you can choose from three different registration options 1) CPR AED only, 2) First Aid only, or 3) both sections.

We schedule private events for businesses!  If you would like us to come to your business location or have a private course for your employees please contact us at DenverParamedicsAHA@dhha.org to schedule your event.
