Nina Cruchon MSW at Down Syndrome Clinic

Nina Cruchon MSW, LCSW

Nina Cruchon MSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker. She has over 30 years of experience providing services for adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including many with Down syndrome. Her work has included being an advocate for the Colorado DD protection and advocacy system at Disability Law, as the case management director at a community centered board and directing an interdisciplinary behavior health clinic for adults with DD and co-existing mental health concerns. Nina is currently with a psychotherapy private practice and is an adjunct with the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.  Her passion continues to be to help all persons achieve optimal mental health and wellness.

 

Barry Martin, MD

Barry Martin, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He has more than 25 years’ experience providing primary health care for adults with developmental disabilities including several hundred with Down Syndrome. He served as Medical Director of the former Denver Adult Down Syndrome Clinic for 10 years. Currently, Dr. Martin is an Assistant Professor of General Internal Medicine at University of Colorado School of Medicine where he sees patients for primary care and consultations. He has been a physician for the GLOBAL Adult Down Syndrome Clinic at Denver Health since 2018. Dr. Martin is a Member of the National Down Syndrome Congress and the Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group.

 

Nicholas Breitnauer, MD, FACP

Nicholas Breitnauer, MD, FACP is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He joined Denver Health in the fall of 2018 and provides primary care at the Southwest Federico Pena Family Health Center with an interest in providing high level care for adults with Down syndrome. He is active in medical education and is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He currently serves as the medical director of the GLOBAL Adult Down Syndrome Clinic at Denver Health.

 

Shawn Jackson MS, PT

Shawn Jackson MS, PT is a physical therapist that specializes in pediatrics. He has worked in the outpatient rehabilitation department at Denver Health for 28 years. He also treats adults with neurodevelopmental conditions including Down Syndrome. As part of the GLOBAL Adult Down Syndrome team, Shawn helps screen out the physical needs of patients as well as supporting families/caretakers.

 

Erin O’Brien, PT, DPT

Erin O’Brien, PT, DPT is a physical therapist with primary specialty in pediatrics. She has been at Denver Health since 2021,  treating orthopedic, neurological, and developmental conditions. As a member of the GLOBAL Adult Down Syndrome Clinic, she addresses musculoskeletal and mobility concerns in order to help patients be as strong, healthy and active as possible.
