At Denver Health, we believe our health care system should work for individuals and look after each of our unique needs as diverse people. The National Institutes of Health recognizes that health care is not one size fits all, so in 2018 the NIH launched the All of Us Research Program with the goal of accelerating health research and medical breakthroughs to improve disease prevention, treatment and care for all.

Denver Health held a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday to mark the opening of our Comprehensive Care Center (CCC), which merges several clinical services already offered at Denver Health. Now, patients will find these services under one roof — in the basement of the Webb Center for Primary Care (Pavilion G) — for more convenient access to care.

Denver Health is proud to deliver one-third of all babies born in Denver, some of whom have grown up and now work for our health care system. As part of our Days of Celebration, we are recognizing all employees and giving a special shoutout to those who have been a part of Denver Health since the beginning. A recent addition to the Breast Imaging team is Alma Mendez, a patient care navigator who completed her ninth year at Denver Health in February.

As part of an ongoing series featuring the incredible staff and various departments at Denver Health, this week we’re spotlighting the Central Fill Pharmacy team, which has kept up with exploding demand for mail-order prescriptions, also called Pharmacy by Mail.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, less than 2% of prescriptions at Denver Health were sent to patients by mail. Today, just over three years later, the number is 16%. Pharmacy by Mail volume in the first quarter of 2023 has increased by 24% compared with the first quarter of 2022, and by a whopping 732% since 2019.
