How to Use an Inhaler With Spacer and Mask

November 03, 2025

The most common way to take asthma medicine is with an inhaler.

The medicine from an inhaler is sprayed out and needs to be breathed deep into the lungs. In order to get the medicine all the way into the lungs, you need to use a spacer. If you don’t use a spacer, less than half of the medicine will make it into the lungs – most will stick in your mouth and throat.

The following is a step-by-step guide to using an inhaler with a spacer and facemask.

October 30, 2025

As the federal government shutdown continues and the Nov. 1 cutoff of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits looms, Denver Health, the city's safety-net health care system, is mobilizing resources to combat a pending public health crisis.

With millions of dollars in federal food aid for Colorado on hold, local food banks cannot fill the gap alone. Sadly, the impact will be felt first and hardest in vulnerable households.

Snowboarding Pioneer Rides Again After Knee Surgeries at Denver Health

October 23, 2025

There was a time Bob Klein snowboarded more than 100 days a year. In the 1980's he was at the top of his game, a snowboard pro, endorsing big name companies including Burton, teaching snowboarding in Aspen and running his own snowboard shop. His active lifestyle at the time was almost unmatched and as a young man in his 20's, he had a feeling it would never end. Klein has remained active into his 60's, but as much as he wants to believe he can still do what he once did on the mountain more than 40 years ago, he recently faced the reality of age catching up to his body.
