DCHS Family Medicine Residents

Class of 2027

Jared Barnett, MD, MPH

Jared graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine Tucson. He has a Master's in Public Health from the University of Arizona. He is passionate about community medicine and inclusive care. He is also dedicated to global health and has worked in hospitals and clinics in Central America, Africa, and Asia. When not at work, he enjoys hiking, road and mountain biking, playing soccer, as well as spending time with his loved ones.

Holly Fussner, MD

Holly is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  She is thrilled to continue her medical journey in Colorado as part of the inaugural class of residents in the Denver Community Health Services Family Medicine Residency Program, believing the mission of the Denver Health system is truly remarkable.  Holly discovered her passion for medicine later in life, after an 11-year career in engineering.  She holds an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, and a master’s degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK.

Having lived in many states across the United States, from Oregon to Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Texas and finally settling in Colorado, Holly brings a diverse background and upbringing to her medical practice.  Her background in engineering and experience getting to know people from across the country empowers her to approach patient care with compassion, empathy, and critical thinking skills.  Holly is honored to have the privilege to treat patients throughout their lives.  She especially loves working with children and is interested in pursuing future training in genetics and metabolism, with the goal of providing lifelong care for patients with medical complexities.

Outside of her medical duties, Holly cherishes spending time with her family. She has a wonderful husband and three amazing children.  Additionally, she is passionate about patient advocacy and seeks to effect change through policy improvements.

Arjun Grewal, DO

I’m originally from the Chicagoland area and completed my medical education at LMU-DCOM. I’m passionate about providing care to medically underserved populations and making a meaningful impact in communities that need it most. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, and playing basketball.

Thanh Thanh Nguyen, MD

Thanh Thanh is a second-year Family Medicine resident at Denver Health. She was born in Tân An, Vietnam, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 11. As the first in her family to graduate from college and medical school, she is passionate about caring for medically underserved communities and improving access to comprehensive, compassionate care. Before attending the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, she worked as an emergency medicine scribe—an experience that shaped her commitment to patient-centered care.

She is excited to continue her training at Denver Health, where she values the opportunity to learn from dedicated colleagues while serving her community. Her clinical interests include full-spectrum family medicine with growing interests in sports medicine and addiction medicine.

Outside of residency, Thanh Thanh enjoys exploring Colorado through biking and hiking with her partner, Nick. Together, they host regular game nights with friends and take on new cooking challenges. She also loves baking, experimenting with grilling recipes, and relaxing at home with her cat, Misa.

Class of 2028

Zoe Gordon, DO – bio coming soon!

Jun Kim, DO

Hello, my name is Jun Kim. I grew up in the Denver area and am really excited to continue my training here! Denver health’s mission and goal of providing high quality healthcare to any and all people regardless of socioeconomic status is what drew me to this program. Everyone starting from the faculty leadership to the social workers to the MAs and front staff are committed to improving the health of our community. I feel really lucky to a part of the founding/growth of our program. I feel my curriculum can really be tailored to what I want out of my future career due to our leadership being so willing/open to our input while still having the stability of being connected with University of Colorado and their resources. Outside of medicine I enjoy karaoke and board games! Very much addicted to fantasy football currently in 4 different leagues. I’m a huge anime fan and I also love reality dating shows!

Amina Maamouri, MD, MPH

Amina graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Medicine and Public Health in 2025.  During that time, she completed her Master of Public Health and participated in the Training in Urban Medicine and Public Health program. Her care approach centers on building trusting relationships with patients/families by listening deeply and working together to support their health goals through every stage of life. She is passionate about health equity, community engagement, and medical education. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, playing soccer, and creating fun food and coffee concoctions.

Cameron Walker, MD

Born and raised in San Antonio, TX, Cameron got her bachelor’s degree in nutrition at Texas Tech University in 2020. She then completed medical school at the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio in 2025. Cameron is a single mom to an amazing 6 year old daughter, and her experiences as a young mother greatly influenced her desire to pursue a career in medicine to help provide socially high risk moms and babies the optimal comprehensive perinatal care they deserve. She found herself gravitating towards DCHSFMR because of the learning opportunities provided by the high volume of value-aligned prenatal care at the Montbello clinic and continuity of care with families before, during and after birth of the child. She plans to eventually pursue a high risk OB fellowship after residency with the goal of a career as a rural FMOB. When she’s not seeing patients, Cameron loves playing music (piano/guitar/singing — especially karaoke!), dancing/aerial arts, spending time with family and taking long walks at Cheesman Park with her dog, Maui.
