Through the middle of 2015, my life was that of an athlete in training. I was spending six to 10 hours daily in CrossFit, kickboxing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I felt like I was in top shape, as I had planned to fight in mixed martial arts (MMA) and become the oldest fighter ever (male or female) at age 54. But life had other plans, and everything changed on June 18, 2015, at 4 p.m.

Tracy Johnson, PhD, Director of Health Reform Initiatives at Denver Health, was recently awarded a Health Policy Fellowship from the Commonwealth Fund.

The Fellowship, one of only two awarded this year, offers outstanding U.S. health policy researchers and practitioners a unique opportunity to spend up to 10 months in Australia conducting original research and working with leading Australian health policy experts on issues relevant to both countries. 

Denver Health Earns 'Top Performer on Key Quality Measures' from the Joint Commission

Denver Health has been named a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. 

The Joint Commission’s 2015 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” recognized Denver Health for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance data in the following areas: heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, immunizations and perinatal care. 

RMPDS Provides Tips for a Safe Thanksgiving
