Not knowing right away the full details of exactly what happened, I was shocked, unsure at that time how bad he was. In July of 2012, I was feeling ill. In fact, I had not been feeling well for three days. Mostly, all I wanted to do was sleep. In the evening of the third day, I attended a 1950s sock hop at my apartment building – despite not feeling quite up to it. While twisting the night away to “Rock Around The Clock,” I suddenly collapsed.
ABSTRACT: Anorexia nervosa portends the highest mortality among psychiatric diseases, despite primarily being a disease of adolescents and younger adults. Although some of this mortality risk is attributable to suicide, many deaths are likely cardiovascular in etiology. Recent studies suggest that adverse myocardial structural changes occur in this condition, which could underlie the increased mortality.

On Monday, October 19, 2015, I was at work when I suddenly developed strong chest pains. I was not exerting myself when they started; I was just sitting at my desk working on my computer. That was my first concern. The chest pains would not go away. After about twenty minutes with the chest pains, I told my boss that I needed them to take me to the emergency room. Since the pains were so strong, they decided to call an ambulance instead. That was definitely the correct decision.
ABSTRACT: Oropharyngeal dysphagia (OPD) refers to difficulty swallowing food or a liquid bolus from the oral and pharyngeal cavities into the esophagus and increases the risk of possibly life‐threatening pneumonia. Little has been reported on OPD in adults with anorexia nervosa (AN). This study includes a description of OPD in severe AN and discusses potentially effective clinical management.
