Denver Health MyChart users can now have a virtual urgent care visit with one of our expert providers. It’s easy and convenient to get the urgent care you need from the comfort of your home, using your smartphone, tablet or computer.
According to NoHeatStroke.org, 913 children have died due to vehicular heatstroke since 1998. Yet, all these deaths could have been prevented. The number of child hot car deaths for 2021 was 23. So far in 2022, six deaths have been reported. On average, 38 children under the age of 15 die each year from heatstroke after being left in a vehicle. Nearly every state has experienced at least one death since 1998.
Denver Health is now offering COVID-19 vaccines to children as young as six months old. Vaccinations for the six months to five-year-old age group are authorized by the Food and Drug Administration and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and vaccinations are the safest and best way to protect our children, family and friends from getting COVID-19.
The Denver Health Board of Directors has announced that Donna Lynne, DrPH, will serve as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Denver Health. Lynne was named sole finalist for the CEO position on June 9. Today, the board voted to extend the job offer to Lynne and she accepted.
Vaccinations are available to everyone age 6 months and over.
National Home Safety Awareness Month, part of National Safety Month, is celebrated in June when people focus on how they can keep their homes safe and free from danger and keep their families injury-free.
Starting Monday, June 13th, the Denver Health Federico F. Peña Southwest Family Health Center Pharmacy, 1339 S. Federal Blvd., is extending its hours to better serve Denver Health patients and the community. The Peña Pharmacy will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Update: On May 21, 2022, the team at Denver Health's Afghan Refugee Overflow Clinic at the Federico F. Peña Family Health Center saw its final patient, after caring for more than 650 patients over the past seven months! Refugee patients from Afghanistan and all countries can still continue to get care at the Lowry Family Health Center, where our team has cared for more than 400 patients and counting.
