A Welcome from Our Division Chief

Diana Mancini, MD
Chief of Hospital Medicine
“On behalf of our Division of Hospital Medicine at Denver Health, welcome! Our hospital medicine division is deeply rooted within Denver Health, our city’s Level I Trauma Center and academic safety-net hospital. We are proud of the work our team performs every day caring for some of Denver’s most vulnerable and complex patients.
In collaboration with our hospital and the University of Colorado, we also train the next generation of physicians and push the field of safety-net hospital medicine forward through education, research and quality improvement.
Whether you are a prospective faculty member exploring opportunities, a colleague looking to collaborate, or simply curious to learn more about what we do, I hope this page gives you a sense of who we are and the impact we make in our hospital, community and field.”
Teaching and Academic Involvement
Hospital Medicine faculty hold academic appointments through the University of Colorado School of Medicine. In addition to supervising medical students and residents on our inpatient and consultative services at Denver Health, many faculty in our division hold funded educational roles at the University of Colorado and teach at the health sciences campus in Aurora.
We actively cultivate the academic careers of our faculty through faculty development conferences, near-peer mentorship and a wide range of opportunities across the broader University ecosystem. To learn more about our academic involvement at Denver Health and the University of Colorado, contact our Director of Academic Development, Dr. Lawrence Haber.
Research and Scholarly Work
Our group has a wide array of research and scholarly interests, all unified by the principle of using our safety-net hospital as a learning health system to improve inpatient care, care delivery and outcomes, especially for medically and socially vulnerable populations.
Interested in Collaborating or Joining Our Team?
We are always glad to connect with community and academic partners who would like to learn more about our division and work, as well as trainees or faculty interested in career opportunities with our group.
