General Surgery

Our team of General Surgeons has specialized knowledge, experience, and skill in the management of the surgical patient. Our surgeons care for the whole patient from the time of diagnosis through the time of complete recovery. Diagnosis and preoperative care are as important as the surgery itself and the postoperative management. Our team of general surgeons are all board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and have the essential components of a broadly based and expressly trained general surgeon. Denver Health is an academic hospital; while providing excellent medical care, we are also educating the next generation of surgeons. This means your care team will consists of more than one surgeon, offering you the opportunity to be treated by a team. Consistent philosophy and care prevail at all levels, allowing the surgeons and nurses who care for you to work together. The surgery clinic coordinates the care for all of our surgical patients and the variety of conditions we treat.

What to Expect

You will be evaluated by providers working as a team. While you will not have surgery the same day as your clinic appointment, many times we are able to schedule a surgery for you on your first appointment. New patient visits are approximately 30 minutes long. We will always do our best to give you enough time to answer your questions and alleviate any concerns you may have. There may be lab or imaging tests that are ordered to better evaluate your particular problem. The clinic will contact you regarding your test results or care management needs. If you haven’t heard from them in 2 weeks, please contact the clinic.
